Rev. Becky Lembke
Becky has been in the ministry for 30 years and has had the joy of serving this church since 2011. She grew up in Dupo, IL in the metro-east area and received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from McKendree University. She then attended Eden Seminary where she received her Masters of Divinity degree. Becky and her husband, Tim, were married in 1997. She is an animal and nature lover who enjoys watching Judge Judy, campfires, family reunions, visiting old friends, and making new ones.
Rev. Brennan Hurley
Brennan was appointed to be the associate pastor here at FUMC and the pastor of Stonington United Methodist Church in 2021. Originally from Carlinville, IL, Brennan received his Bachelors degree from Greenville College and his Masters of Divinity from Duke University. Brennan is married to Jenna, and they have one daughter, Caroline. Brennan enjoys running, laughing, preaching, and reading.
Rev. Sheryl Van Dyke
Director of Education and Programming
Sheryl is a long-time educator, growing up in many places as the daughter of an Airman. She currently lives in Nokomis with her husband, Jeff, who is a United Methodist pastor. Sheryl has a Master’s of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary.
Director of Youth Ministries
Jamie has worn many different hats over the years at FUMC, her home church. She currently wears the Director of Youth Ministries hat. She and her husband, Doug, have three children, Karter, Zac, and Amanda.
Choir Director/Organist/Bell Choir Director/Housekeeper
Judy does it all! With a passion for cooking and serving others, Judy loves to see others happy. She loves animals and has had many pets over the years. She has three children, Elizabeth, Angie, and Brian.
Greg is a retired teacher, principal, and coach. He’s now our church’s custodian and handyman. He enjoys umpiring softball and spending time with his family – his wife, Brenda, and his kids, Nick, Liz, and Connor.
Terry and his wife, Noma, have been married for over 50 years. They are the parents of two children, Brandon, an IT Director for an architectural firm in Phoenix, AZ, and daughter Amanda and her husband Jeff Smith, now living in Yucca Valley, CA. Amanda is a commercial pilot flying for United Express, while Jeff is a dentist in the US Navy. Terry has many interests, including being a sports announcer for over 20 years, a member of the City Council for 20 years, a member of the Optimist Club for over thirty years, and a member of FUMC since he and Noma moved to Taylorville in 1972. He is retired from CIPS/Ameren, where he worked for 44 years. Noma retired in 2014 after serving as the Food Service Supervisor for Memorial Grade School, logging in some 35 years.
Jeff started attending FUMC in 2011, joining the church on Christmas Day. His tenure as Treasurer began in January of 2013. He came experienced formerly being the treasurer of the Wyoming United Methodist Church in the 90’s and early 2000’s. Jeff manages Westervelt Mutual Insurance Company in Westervelt, IL and is an agent for Likes Insurance Agency, in Stonington. He also serves as the treasurer of the Stonington Lions Club and is active in other civic organizations. Jeff has 5 adult children scattered across the country and 9 grandchildren. Besides work and community involvement, Jeff raises chickens on his rural Taylorville acreage and dabbles in woodworking.
